Every year, our Cub Scouts turn small blocks of wood, plastic wheels, and metal nails into the most incredible racecars you could imagine. The fun of being able to see the car that they’ve built with their family’s help is matched only by the amazing creativity that goes into the designs.
We give out car kids in December, and provide the Cubs a chance to get their car’s basic shape precut. From there, they have about a month to turn those parts into a fine-tuned 5 ounce racing machine and then cheer each other on to victory in our January race.
