This year, our annual tradition of the Arrow of Light den’s last big adventure, and the Webelos den’s first great challenge…hit a snag. Klondike Derby is held in February, and the weather can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, like this year when the highway had a possible closure warning. Not wanting to miss the opportunity completely, the older cubs banded together for a “Taste of Klondike” event back at home.
The snow in Boise was…a lot lighter than at the Klondike Derby itself, but a fun time was had nonetheless. First aid and other practice events helped make the weekend both fun and informative.
